We then after we had decided on the shape of the draped fabric we worked on the pleats and tucks of the bodice, followed by the decision of the skirt length. We decided to have the front of the skirt short and the back long with a twisted shoulder and a big triangular pleat in the bodice.
In the making stage of the garment the first step was to make the pattern for the bodice. So we made the pattern on the bodice so that it was strapless and with a sweetheart neckline and finished at the waist.
We then began the skirt pattern wich was a normal A-line skirt block that was shortened from 24inches long to 16inches long.
The draped 2metre piece created the bodice and the long skirt for the back that would have added to its base rows of gathered materials up to where it was just above the ground.
